The next morning found us on our way east. We rode around the out-skirts of Branson and then caught Hwy 60 east.
Hwy 60 is marked as a sceinic road on the MO. map, well there was one sceinic pull-out on the road and then we
stopped at a campground down the rode and snapped a couple of pictures.

Not many pic opportunities to take pictures, oh well. We went down the rode and caught Hwy 19 north, again this is marked
as a sceinic road and there is nowhere to stop and take pictures, no shoulders to stop on either. Both of these roads are
what is known as CHIP roads, small slivers of stone, usually flint or chert, and they suck!!!!! They will cut up your tires
and if you slide down the road it is like sliding on glass or razor blades, not fun.
Anyway, we had been running from rain most of the day and could now here thunder. We stopped at some State Park and asked
the ranger what was heading our way and he said he could not get any info because the line to the next town, we were heading too,
was down, oh great. Anyway we were talking to the ranger about the roads and he said he had already blown one tire this year
on that crap.
We left the park and headed down the road, trying to beat the rain to a motel. After only hitting a few sprinkles we made it to
Salem, Mo, where we got a room here.

About five minutes later it came a down pour for about 45min, glad we made it to the hotel. A coup[le of hours later a
group of BMW riders from OK pulled into the motel, the were headed to a big BMW rally in Wisconson, those are some very nice bikes,
and we talked to them for a couple of hours.
The next morning fouund us on the road moving east again, we wanted to go see an old Civil war fort, Fort Davidson I think.
Again the roads sucked, but hey we were riding. Anyway, the there was not much of the fort left, basically just a hole in
the ground with some singage, sorry no pictures here.
We then headed north, we were on our way to Meramec State park, man do these roads suck, now we were riding on lose gravel,
no hurry today.... We make it to the park and then go through one of the samller caves, Fisher cave.
Here are some pics of Fisher Cave.
<

You can see all the broken pieces, people in the 1800's used this cave to hold dances in and they were
kind of destructive.

More pics of Fisher Cave.

Here is one of the biggest oak trees I have ever seen, this is in Meramec park.

The next morning we get up and go over to Meramec Cavern, this is a large cave with lots of water in it,
and the camp ground is right on the river.
Almost ready to go.

Meramec Caverns.

After we left the caverns, we found a part of US 66 and rode it for awhile and then we came across this bike
at RT 66 Cycles, stopped in and talked to the guy who owns the place and built this bike.
