Discussion: This is a fundic gland polyp. Note features of cystically dilated gastric fundic glands lined by normal-appearing chief and parietal cells or gastric surface epithelial cells.
Question No. 8. The Answer is: (B) False.
Discussion: Fundic gland polyps most often occur sporadically, although they are also common among patients with FAP. Of note, dysplasia may be present in up to 42% of FAP-associated fundic gland polyps, while dysplasia is found in less than 1% of sporadic fundic gland polyps.
