Question No. 16. The Answer is: (C) Herpes cytopathic effect.

Discussion: The epithelial cells in the low portion of the slide show herpes cytopathic effect. There are multinucleation and nuclei molding. The nuclei of infected cells are filled with viral particles, which impart a pale, homogeneous, glassy appearance (ground-glass). Nuclear chromatin is visible only at the periphery of some nuclei (margination of chromatin). The central par of the nuclei has ground glass appearance.
