Cysticercosis refer to a disease caused by the invasion of the larval forms (Cysticercus cellulosae and C. racemose) of T. solium in tissue. Both diseases can affect human. Neurocysticercosis refer to cysticercosis involving the eye or the brain. Humans are both the intermediate and definitive host of T. solium. The pig is the intermediate host. Human infection is acquired by ingesting infected pork. Working with sheep would not pose an occupational risk. The adult T. solium are tens of centimeters in length.
