Histotechnology I- Miscellaneous
Question No. 6. The Answer is: (B) 60-90 nm.
Discussion: For diagnostic transmission electron microscopy, the resin embedded sections are cut at 60-90 nm. The so called semi-thin resin embedded sections for light microscopy, however, are cut at 0.5-1.0 mm. Semi-thin sections are most often used for identification and targeting of tissue as well as pathologic examination of peripheral nerve biopsy.
