Molecular Pathology- Miscellaneous I

Question No. 7. The Answer is: (A) Substitution of a single base, micro deletion or insertion.

Discussion: Oligonucleotides are short (usually 15 to 50 bases), single-stranded sequences of DNA that are useful in discriminating single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNP) and small sequences changes. Because of their size they are not suited to detecting large sequence rearrangements.
