Molecular Pathology- Miscellaneous I

Question No. 28. The Answer is: (C) P32 and P33

Discussion: P32 and P33 are most commonly used in the preparation of radioactive DNA and RNA probes. P33 can be used in both membrane based and in situ hybridization. I125 and S35 are more often used in protein labeling. C14 is often used for pulse chase experiments. Many radioactive procedures in the molecular diagnostic laboratory have now been replaced with non-radioactive methods.
