A 26 year-old man with a pineal mass.

Clinical information:  The patient was a 26 year-old man who presented with a chief complain of headache.  A mass in the pineal gland was found and a stereotactic biopsy was performed. The followings are representative images from CT scan and pathologic studies.

• Panel C, D and E: Intraoperative cytologic and frozen section preparations.
• Panel F to J: Formalin fixed, paraffin embedded permanent sections.
• Panel K, L and M: Immunohistochemistry for leukocyte common antigen (LCA), CD3 and CD68 respectively.
• Panel N: Immunohistochemistry for placental alkaline phosphatase (PLAP) and c-kit (CD-117) respectively.
