Meningioma

Meningiomas have many morphologic patterns. Here are the more common ones.

• Panel A and B are taken from the same tumor: The tumor cells arrange in concentric whorls which resemble normal arachnoid granulation. Pseudonuclear inclusion (a bag of cytoplasm that protrudes into the nucleus) is a common finding in meningioma (arrow).
• Panel C: Psammoma body (the red-purple round body) are calcified bodies that are often found in meningioma.
• Panel D: In the fibroblastic type of meningioma, the cells are spindle shaped and resemble fibroblasts.
