Pathology: 

• The tumor is composed of polygonal cells of similar size with perinuclear halo and round nuclei. The nuclei appear monotonous. Embedded within the tumor is a delicate vascular network. This type of histologic picture is consistent with oligodendroglioma and central neurocytoma. Deletion of chromosome 1p and 19q often occur in oligodendroglioma and anaplastic oligodendroglioma and is associated with improved response to chemotherapy.

Discussion:
