Welcome to the OUHSC Faculty Leadership Program web site. The information posted here will give you an overview of our health sciences center's program for faculty professional development and mentoring.
If you are a junior faculty member, the Faculty Leadership Program may be just what you're looking for to get off to a good start in your academic career. Our goals during your involvement in the program are threefold:
Helping you increase your knowledge base about key faculty roles. Working with you to develop effective team member and leadership skills to increase your effectiveness within your unit and college, and Introducing you to campus colleagues who are engaged in similar roles by providing a learning environment that is conducive to collaborative interdisciplinary learning.
As a mid-level or senior faculty member you may be interested in participating in a symposium or colloquium program. These are special topic sessions, usually developed with a college or program co-sponsor to address an issue of interdisciplinary interest. We've conducted programs on Teaching Ethics in the Health Professional Setting; Negotiating to Get the Job Done; and The Reflective Practitioner to name a few.
In addition, as a senior faculty member, or Faculty Leadership Program graduate, we are interested in hearing from you if you would like to sit in on a session as a small group discussant, or you might like to become a program mentor.
